EmailThank you for the great response for the foster homes for small breed dogs we have gotten enough for them. Now if we could just get foster homes for medium to large breed that would be awsome, or even puppies. We cover all costs. please call Debra at 1 888 734 1013 or email her at

EmailWe are in desperate need of some donations! If you can help, please contact 1-888-734-1013 or oopsadazyrescue@yahoo.ca.
Cash- this week we had a difficult choice to make. T-Rex, one of our special needs dogs needed urgent surgery. We always give our animals the best chance at a great life and providing the best veterinary care is paramount. The surgery cost $8000 so we desperately need to raise some funds! One of our senior foster dogs is also in need of a special harness and cart for his hind legs. This is also going to be very pricey. Donations of any amount help! Tax receipts can be issued for cheques of $20 or more.
Treadmill- Thank you very much to the people who donated treadmills to help Grizz and T-Rex in their recovery!
Food and litter- we are always needing dog and cat food as well as cat litter. We accept open and expired bags. Finally, you can get rid of all those bags of food you tried and your pet didn't like! Any brand/ formula can be used!
Thank you for your support!

EmailHer eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn’t be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn’t want her to know that I hadn’t been walked today. Sometimes the overworked shelter keepers get too busy and I didn’t want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn’t feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone’s life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.
I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven’t walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.

Grizzly (Grizz) is a beautiful 4 month old Tan Shepherd cross who was rescued after being hit by a car a month ago. Grizzly had to have surgery due to breaks in his tibia, fibia, and pelvis. The surgery was performed by the amazing staff at Southpointe Pet Hospital where he was kept under observation for two weeks before being released to our care as part of our foster program. He won the staff at Southpointe over with his charm and sweet nature so they were very sad to see him go.
Grizzly is doing beautifully here with us. Being in the company of larger active dogs has forced Grizzly to walk, run, and climb to keep up. Our boys (part of Oops-A-Dazy’s Forever Foster Program) are 12 years old but still active. Toby and Shilo are both taking a part in teaching young Grizzly what it means to be a great dog.
Shilo is Grizzly’s favourite. They have been working together on the arts of fetch, rolling, dog angels in the snow, and scratching in just the right way. Shilo had an injury similar to Grizzly’s as a puppy but did not receive the proper therapy.
We also have two cats here, a young male who plays with Grizzly and an older female with a temper. He gets along great with both, one as a playmate and the other as a much respected elder.
Next week, Shilo and Grizzly will start on an intense therapy program together. Three days a week they will go to Water Treadmill at Marda Loop Rehab Vet. This will be combined with therapy exercises at home. After four weeks Grizzly will be re-evaluated and likely will be able to continue his therapy without Shilo.
Any family who takes Grizzly to his Forever home will be responsible for continuing the therapy at Marda Loop as it is required but the expenses will be still be paid for by Oops-A-Dazy. The cost of this therapy is high but Oops-A-Dazy firmly believes in getting every animal the care that they need.
Grizzly is on a healthy diet of premium puppy food with supplements – probiotics for digestion together with glucosamine and velvet elk antler for his joints and to promote healing.
Grizzly is a happy, healthy, active puppy. He loves to be out meeting new people and/or animals. He is very well socialized and is learning basic commands. Although he is considered tan he is really a beautiful caramel colour with beautiful shading and some blonde streaks. He will be a great addition to any home and family.
Anyone interested in adopting Grizzly or in donating to his rehab and care can contact Oops-A-Dazy directly.

EmailSpecial Animals Require Special Care
In the past year, our rescue has taken in an extremely large number of animals who have extensive medical needs. We’d like to tell you a bit about some of the special dogs and cats that have won over our hearts, the hearts of their foster families, and the hearts of our veterinarians. The costs of caring for these “special needs”animals is a major hurdle for our rescue at the moment. Our veterinary bills have been astronomical but we will never let an animal suffer. Providing the best veterinary care is extremely important to us. Our veterinary partners have been lifesavers (literally!) providing us with all the support we need and also reducing their rates whenever possible. Anytime an animal needs extra medical care, though, we struggle to find the funds to pay for it. If you or your company would like to sponsor any of these special cases, please contact us at oopsadazypresident@hotmail.com. As we are a registered non-profit organization, donations are tax deductable. We can create a certificate to acknowledge your sponsorship. Donations of any amount are appreciated- cheques can be sent to Box 57089 Calgary, AB T1Y 6R4. You can also donate through CanadaHelps.org- just click on the link on the side of the screen. All of our fundraising efforts contribute to helping special cases like these as well. Check our “Fundraising” page frequently for more information about upcoming fundraisers. Thank you for your support. Click on "Read More" to meet some of our special cases.
